Hi Everyone, I am a single parent and I have student loan debt of over $40K. They are wanting about $400 a month! I am trying to find out if there is any way this can be eliminated. I keep getting deferments on my loans because I can't afford them having only one income. They are due again and I need help! Please give me any information known to somehow get grants, etc. to help take care of some of this. Thanks

in response to lucky J...   Try you local one-stop, or workforce agency. You will have to put in some effort, but they may have the funding you are looking for at no charge to you in order for you to go to colledge or recive career training

Ok...here goes nothin....I am a 23 year old female trying desperatly to get financial aid to go back to school. I have thre very young kids and just divorced a very abusive man. Now you may be asking wat sets me apart from others in my same position...well...first of all i am christian woman...all my children have same father..and unlike most others...my situation is only partialy due to iresponsibilty buy mosty is a result of my responsability as a god fearing mother and wife. I stayed with the father of my children for several years being subbmissive and trying to make things work for god and my children. Unfortunatly...nothing i did was good enough to stop the abuse so i prayed and fasted and gave all i could to christ...and i got my answer...i left. Now here i sit..writing this...reaching out for help from all diractions to better the lifes of my children and give them a life there dad can give. If anyone can help in any way i would so greatfull. Im looking in to nursing school but cant figure out how or where to apply for grants and other assistance. Please help!!

I am a 13 year old high-school student who has a 4.0 gpa and I want to to keep going to my school but my parents can't take me every day so I take rides with my friends parents . Every week I pay $20 for the gas money . My school is the best in the county so there have been a couple people who have gone into Stanford University my dream has been to go there since 5th grade . But since my parents are farmers once the season is over they can no longer afford to pay gas money therefore I have no ride to school and have no way of going . I have all straight A's I have the highest grade in my biology class ; a A in Geometry ; an A in Literature and in A in World Geography ; An A in P.E : an A in computer class and an A in Wood tech 1. I have joined 4 clubs 3 out four are community service clubs . Last year in eight grade I had about 60hrs of community service that was given to the high school and plus this year I have done about 10hrs so far. My parents are both full blooded Hispanics that crossed the border in 1960's and they are residents here . My strongest subjects are Science and World Geography and Math . If there is anyone that can help me , inform me about where I can get a scholarship please contact me .

I am a 17 year old high-school senior who is finally about to apply for college! I am the first person out of my whole family to go to college and I have no help or guidance for the process. I currently live in North Carolina but out of state colleges are on my top for colleges I want to go to. I just recently signed up for the ACT and I really want to get into a good college. My GPA is a low 2.48 un-weighted and 2.98 weighted. I've moved high schools so it was a little hard for me to adjust. I've took nothing but AP and honors classes my whole high school career. My strongest subject is math, which I have made nothing but A's in except AP statistics which I made a C in. My mom is full white and my dad is half black half Hispanic. I've completed over 100 hours of voluntary community service hours. I really just need help finding a perfect college and looking for as many scholarships as I possible can apply for. If anyone can help me reply or email me directly at Allissa12344@hotmail.com ! Thanks so much

I am a 26 yr old female currently enrolled in forensic science at a private school in MA. I have asked to increase the amounts of my federal loans (previously done at community college) and I was told by the private school that it's not possible. I don't understand why I could do it at my previous school and not at the new one. I am no where close to the total allowable borrowing amount on either of them. What do I do now?

I'm a mother of three daughters whom are all enrolled in college. I would like to find information that could help me with funding so that one of my daughters will be able to attend California Baptist University this coming fall. She has been accepted, but we do not have the money to pay off her existing balance. My credit has been flawed due to illness and set backs from the recession. If there are any resources that are available that would help me out please let me know. Thank you

I am a first generation freshman in college. The transition was quite difficult for me and as a result, my grades suffered. I am now on academic warning, which makes my scholarship options quite scarce being that most of them have GPA requirments that I can not meet at this time. I have since them adjusted, but it's going to take time to get my GPA up. I know I can do it. Are there any grants or scholarships available for people like me??

I am almost 30 and when I first went to college I wasn't mentally ready to handle the higher learning. For the past 10 years I've grown as a person and I would definitely like to better myself by getting a college degree but of course I have run my debt to the number of 10,000.00 owed and I have no money to continue my education. I would like to try and receive a grant or scholarship that would allow me to go back to school, even if it meant entering an area of work that I wouldn't have picked on my own. Thanks for all the help in advance, this site is great!
